Privacy Policy

Plain English summary: Awzsome collects your location once per session, your food preferences if you share them, and your last search. We never sell your data, never share it with advertisers, and you can delete everything instantly by sending STOP at any time.
1. Who we are
Awzsome is a hyperlocal household services discovery platform operated by Awzsome LLC. We connect consumers to local services, deals, and community resources through WhatsApp. Our website is awzsome.com and you can contact us at privacy@awzsome.com.
2. What data we collect
We collect only the minimum data needed to provide the Awzsome service:
- GPS location — your live location when you share it via WhatsApp. Stored for 24 hours per session, used only to find services within 10 miles of you.
- WhatsApp phone number — used to send and receive messages. Stored in hashed form in our database.
- Conversation preferences — dietary preferences, cuisine preferences, and last search category. Only stored if you mention them in conversation.
- Consent record — the date and time you agreed to our terms. Required for WhatsApp compliance.
We do not collect your name, email address, payment information, or any demographic data.
3. What we never collect
- Your real name or identity
- Payment or financial information
- Medical or health records
- Device identifiers or IP addresses beyond what WhatsApp provides
- Browsing history outside of Awzsome
- Data from your contacts or other apps
4. How we use your data
Your data is used exclusively to provide the Awzsome service:
- Finding local services and deals within 10 miles of your location
- Personalising results based on your stated preferences
- Sending Friday deal alerts if you have opted in
- Improving the accuracy and relevance of search results
We never use your data to train AI models outside of the Awzsome service. We never use your data for advertising targeting. We never sell your data to third parties.
5. Data sharing
We share your data only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers — OpenAI (for search processing), Google Maps (for location services), Supabase (for database storage). Each bound by data processing agreements.
- WhatsApp / Meta — messages are transmitted through the WhatsApp Business API. Meta's privacy policy applies to message transmission.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the public.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
6. Data retention
- Location data — automatically deleted after 24 hours of inactivity
- Session preferences — retained for 30 days of inactivity, then deleted
- Consent records — retained for 3 years for legal compliance purposes
- All data — permanently deleted within 24 hours of receiving a STOP or DELETE command
7. Your rights and controls
You have full control over your data at any time by messaging Awzsome on WhatsApp:
- STOP — permanently deletes all your data and unsubscribes you from all messages
- DELETE — permanently deletes all your data while remaining subscribed
- DATA — shows you everything Awzsome has stored about you
- PRIVACY — links to this privacy policy
You also have the right to request data portability, correction, or erasure by emailing privacy@awzsome.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Security
- Phone numbers stored in hashed form — we cannot recover your actual number from our database
- All data transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections
- Database access restricted to authorised services only
- Row-level security policies on all database tables
- API keys stored in secure environment variables, never in code
9. Children's privacy
Awzsome is not intended for use by persons under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at privacy@awzsome.com.
10. WhatsApp-specific terms
Awzsome operates through the WhatsApp Business API. By using Awzsome you acknowledge that your messages are processed through Meta's WhatsApp infrastructure. Awzsome is classified as a task-specific hyperlocal business discovery service and complies with Meta's WhatsApp Business Solution terms effective January 15, 2026.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by sending a WhatsApp message to active users. The updated policy will be published at awzsome.com/privacy with a new effective date.
